On June 20, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany together with the Israeli Embassy held a “Jewish Life in Azerbaijan” event at the historic Pestalozzistrasse Synagogue in Berlin, as well as an exhibition with the same name and presentation of “Jewish Heritage in Azerbaijan” photo book, Azerbaijani Embassy in Berlin told APA.
As official partners of the event, the most influential Jewish organizations in Germany and Europe, such as the Central Council of Jews in Germany, the Jewish Community of Berlin, and the Conference of European Rabbis delivered speeches. Bundestag MPs, high-ranking representatives of German state institutions, ambassadors, media representatives, science and culture figures, as well as members of Azerbaijani, Jewish, Turkish, and other communities living in Germany attended the event.
During the event, Pestalozzistrasse Synagouge’s choir led by Azerbaijani musician, violinist Farida Rustamova and Isidoro Abramovich, who lives in Germany, performed a concert program consisting of examples of Azerbaijani, Jewish and European music.
The event was met with great interest of the guests.
