Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov explained the contradictory points that prevent the signing of the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia,  APA reports.

Foreign Minister Bayramov said at the year-end press conference that there are some disturbing points in the negotiations.

"There are 3 elements from our side. The first element is that when a project is presented, you don't have to suddenly insert your wishes and desires into it. This project must be realistic and based on international law. There must be a basis to take this forward. Based on this, Azerbaijan presented 5 basic principles. In a short time, Armenia admitted that there is no principle unacceptable for them in the 5 basic principles. There was a reason for that. Because it is actually very difficult to say "no" to him. The 5-base principle was very fair. There were meetings after these 5 principles. Although no new documents were adopted as a result of those meetings, agreements were reached that further developed the 5 basic principles. These were considered acceptable by Armenia. The Armenian side announced this to its society. Looking at some comments in the negotiation process from the Armenian side, we see steps back from the previously reached agreements. We believe that this is a very harmful trend," said J. Bayramov.
