Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Francina Armengol, Speaker of Spain’s Congress of Deputies, on January 23, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Asadov expressed his condolences to Armenqol over the recent train accident in Spain, which caused multiple casualties.

The leaders noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Spain have shown positive dynamics across various fields and emphasized that bilateral relations are based on principles of friendship and mutual respect.

Interparliamentary cooperation was also discussed, with both sides highlighting the importance of reciprocal visits and contacts at the parliamentary level.

The meeting covered prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in various areas, including trade and economics, investment, energy—particularly renewable energy—transport, and other sectors.
