Azerbaijan’s emergency situations minister visits Malaysia

A delegation from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, led by Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov, has paid a visit to Malaysia, the Press Service of the Ministry told APA.

During the visit, Minister Heydarov met with the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, Mohammad Abidin Abd Rahman. At the meeting, the sides emphasized that amid climate change, the increasing intensity of natural disasters, and technogenic accidents, the importance of international cooperation in the field of emergency management continues to grow.

It was noted that within the framework of cooperation based on friendship and mutual trust between the two countries, the exchange of experience in disaster and crisis management between the relevant authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Malaysia, as well as the implementation of joint training and professional development programs in the field of emergency response, would be mutually beneficial. In this context, confidence was expressed that the current visit and the discussions held would give impetus to the further expansion of bilateral relations.

During the meeting, a broad exchange of views was also held on issues of mutual interest.
