Azerbaijani political expert: Armenians to suffer most from "French-style humanitarian provocation" of the mayor of Paris

Instead of supporting the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, France creates tension in the region with its provocative actions, political expert Ramiz Aliyev told APA.

The expert asserted that the mayors of a number of French cities also openly support the anti-Azerbaijani campaign: "At the request of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF), the mayor of Paris, Ann Hidalgo, took the initiative to send a "humanitarian aid convoy" to the alleged blockaded Khankandi. The purpose of the provocative "French-style peace initiative", of course, serves to keep the separatist claims of the Armenians in Khankandi on the agenda."

Ramiz Aliyev noted that Anne Hidalgo will personally accompany the caravan that will reach Lachin on August 30: "Anne Hidalgo is taking steps in accordance with Yerevan's interests and orders. The convoy sent to our country without agreement with Azerbaijan is still waiting in front of the Lachin post. Now that France has joined this provocation, it shows that the threats and pressures against our country are prepared by special centers. President Ilham Aliyev noted that following the opening of the Aghdam-Khankandi road, the Lachin-Khankandi road can be used by observing the customs and border regime rules of Azerbaijan as he held phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. The head of state also underlined that Azerbaijan invited representatives of the Armenian population of Garabagh to the capital Baku and other cities of Azerbaijan to discuss reintegration issues, but they refused and purposefully made allegations about the tense humanitarian situation”.

Ramiz Aliyev asserted that Anne Hidalgo's support for the separatist regime in Garabagh will have a boomerang effect and will further damage France's reputation in the world: "There is no doubt that Anne Hidalgo's French "humanitarian sabotage" will be prevented. The trucks she sends to Khankandi will, at best, stop behind the Armenian trucks waiting in front of the Lachin checkpoint and create traffic jams. This will create a problem for the Armenians themselves."
