The Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (Parliament) called on the Armenian side to refrain from actions that would increase tension in the region, the Press Service of the Milli Majlis stated in the press release regarding the statement of the Speaker of the Parliament of Armenia Alen Simonyan on the establishment of a border checkpoint at the beginning of the Lachin-Khankandi road by the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
"We call on the Armenian side to refrain from actions that will increase tension in the region, from obstructing peace negotiations under various pretexts, and to take a responsible approach to efforts to establish relations with Azerbaijan based on the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty of the countries," the statement said.
