"As Iran's terrorist network in Azerbaijan is exposed, this country becomes more aggressive against Azerbaijan," Hikmet Babaoglu, deputy chairman of the Defense, Security, and Anti-Corruption Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis), told APA.
Hikmet Babaoglu said that, as a result of operations carried out by our special state agencies, it is apparent that four employees of the Iranian embassy were involved in secret activities against our national security in some way: "Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already declared these employees persona non grata and asked them to leave the country. This indicates that Iran has forced its diplomats to commit crimes against a neighboring country while violating international law and the Venice Convention on Diplomatic Activities. All of this points to Iran's weakness, not its strength. The issue is that Iran's terrorist behavior against Azerbaijan, which has a good reputation in the Islamic world for acting as a bridge between Islamic culture and Western civilization, and has achieved dialogue between the two civilizations by inviting diplomats from EU member countries to a meeting of the foreign policy departments of OIC member countries, discredits this country in all Muslim countries."
