Azerbaijani minister highlights Armenian mine terrorism at UN Human Rights Council

"Although the conflict has ended and prospects for peace have emerged, serious problems related to human rights remain in the post-conflict period," Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said as he addressed the 54th session of UN Human Rights Council meeting, APA reports.

The minister stressed that the mines planted by Armenia continue to hinder the restoration and reconstruction works in the liberated territories, to end the lives of innocent people, and prevent the return rights of the Azerbaijani IDPs.

XİN rəhbəri əlavə edib ki, 2020-ci il noyabrın 10-dan indiyədək işğaldan azad edilmiş ərazilərdə 306 nəfər minadan zərər çəkib, ümumilikdə, son 30 ildə 3300-dən çox azərbaycanlı minaların qurbanı olub.

Jeyhun Bayramov added that from November 10, 2020 until now, 306 people have been harmed by landmines in the liberated territories, and in total, more than 3300 Azerbaijanis were victims of landmines in the last 30 years.
