"The evacuation of Azerbaijanis to our country is on the agenda due to the situation in Ukraine. For the first 24 hours, our citizens could only cross the border states using land," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Leyla Abdullayeva, APA reports.
She noted that negotiations were held with neighboring countries from the first hours: “Our citizens can leave Ukraine crossing in the direction of Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. Visa regime has been abolished. To date, about 4,000 Azerbaijanis have crossed the border. The evacuation of Azerbaijanis from areas where military operations are underway is an important issue amid the current situation. Yesterday, Azerbaijanis were evacuated from Kharkiv by train, and more than 800 Azerbaijanis left Kharkiv for Moldova.
