Azerbaijani MFA comments on publication of Russian MFA on Treaty of Turkmenchay

"It is surprising and regrettable that on the day of the signing of the declaration on allied interaction between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, a publication of distorted information about the Treaty of Turkmenchay of 1828 appears on the official page in the social network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation," Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.

"We would like to emphasize that the above-mentioned treaty does not refer to the words "Eastern Armenia" at all, and, of course, this fact should be well known to the Department of Historical Documents of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

We consider it important to eliminate this distortion, and we expect that the false information on the official social network page of the Russian Foreign Ministry will be corrected," noted.
