Azerbaijani FM: We see different behavior in a number of cases

Among all European countries, France is one that knows the history of the conflict best and has the most active role, said Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov at the press conference with French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna, APA reports.

"Before the civil war, Azerbaijan had a certain expectation that the mediators of the negotiation process would pressure Armenia with calls. Long-term expectations later turned to disappointment.

"Before the Patriotic War, there was a certain expectation in Azerbaijan that the mediators of the negotiation process would put pressure on Armenia. Long-term expectations later turned to disappointmentm" said Jeyhun Bayramov.

"The response to the issues raised by Azerbaijan was always that you should understand us, we have a mediating role and function, we should create a framework and encourage Armenia to negotiate and direct contacts with Azerbaijan, as a result of which peace should be achieved. We, in our turn, put a kind of equality sign between the aggressor country and the aggressed country. That is, despite all this, Azerbaijan approached this issue with restraint. But today we see different behavior in a number of cases," he added.
