The serial acts of burning Quran in Sweden and Denmark is unacceptable and we condemn it, said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov as he made a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.
The Minister stressed that it is completely inappropriate for the parties to relate this to human rights and freedom of speech: Trampling and disregarding the feelings of Muslims does not justify anyone doing this under the umbrella of freedom of speech and human rights. The sides should take measures in this regard. Harassment against holy books is just one of the manifestations of Islamophobia. We are seeing campaigns on this in several countries and this is completely acceptable," Jeyhun Bayramov added.
