Azerbaijani FM: The person who presents himself as head of Armenian community has nothing to do with Karabakh

The main reason for the peaceful protest being held on the Lachin-Khankandi road is the illegal exploitation of useful mineral deposits by Armenians in the Karabakh, said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at a joint press conference on the results of talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, APA reports.

“Armenia illegally and barbarically exploited our useful mineral deposits. There are foreign and domestic experts’ opinions that confirm it. These opinions prove that Azerbaijan’s ecology was massively damaged. In this case, Azerbaijani society had to show its disagreement. Azerbaijan has always shown a tolerant position. An appeal was made in connection with this issue and during the last two months, these appeals have further intensified, because those who attempted to introduce themselves as heads of the Armenian community emerged in the last two months. Although those people have nothing to do with Karabakh, they consider themselves leaders and after the arrival of these people, the looting of our country's wealth has accelerated. For this reason, negotiations were conducted between the Azerbaijani side and Russian peacekeeping forces in recent months and an agreement was reached. Then Azerbaijani specialists came to monitor the area and were not allowed the area by Armenians. Activists and the public lost hope for the resolution of the issue through negotiations and decided to hold a protest action," stressed Azerbaijani FM.
