“During the year, cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU based on equal and reciprocal interests were continued,” said Azerbaijan’s FM Jeyhun Bayramov at the press conference on the finals of the year, APA reports.
According to the minister, negotiations are underway on a new bilateral agreement that will form the legal basis of Azerbaijan's cooperation with the EU: “There are several results. EU-Azerbaijan cooperation council was held in July. In December, there was a meeting of the heads of foreign affairs of the EU Eastern Partnership countries, and Azerbaijan was represented there and conveyed its position.”
The minister stressed that in 2022, Azerbaijan-NATO partnership retained its strategic importance. According to him, practical cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO continues.
