Azerbaijani FM met with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with visiting Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Yasin Ekrem Serim, the Ministry told APA.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on prospects for the bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, the current situation in the region, and the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Both sides praised efforts aimed at expanding the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Türkiye across all levels. They emphasized the importance of enhancing the strategic alliance agenda in various domains such as politics, economics, trade, military affairs, defense industry, energy security, investments, transportation, communication, humanitarian affairs, education, culture, and more.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also expressed admiration for the excellent organization of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, highlighting his pride in Türkiye’s diplomatic achievements and its ranking as the third country globally in terms of number of diplomatic missions. He further underscored that the decision to establish the Azerbaijan-Türkiye University would contribute significantly to deepening cooperation between the two nations in the field of education.

During the meeting, the importance of the bilateral mutually beneficial partnership within international organizations, particularly concerning issues related to international and regional threats, migration, and others, was emphasized as setting an exemplary precedent. The parties discussed the significance of intensifying joint activities within the Organization of Turkic States, which stands as one of Azerbaijan's primary foreign policy priorities, and advancing new multilateral initiatives.

The Azerbaijani FM updated Yasin Ekrem Serim on the latest steps undertaken towards peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

He stressed the importance of Armenia`s refraining from territorial claims against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan to establish peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on other bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.
