Azerbaijani FM meets with UNESCO Chairperson of Executive Board and Assistant Director-General -UPDATED

Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov has met with UNESCO Chairperson of the Executive Board Tamara Rastovac Siamashvili and Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences Gabriela Ramos, APA reports citing the ministry.

The sides exchanged views on topical issues on Azerbaijan-UNESCO current cooperation agenda, the initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan, as well as the regional issues.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov pointed out Azerbaijan’s significant contributions to the activity of UNESCO, as well as the development and promotion of intercultural dialogue since the country’s membership in the organization. He hailed the importance of numerous international projects organized as part of the “Baku process” which was implemented by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Chairperson of the Executive Board of UNESCO Tamara Rastovac Siamashvili visited Azerbaijan and met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, she wrote on her Twitter, APA reports.

"Delighted to be in Azerbaijan and honoured to be received by Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs together with Gabriela Ramos, the Assistant Director-General for the Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO. We exchanged views on several important issues for the work of UNESCO’s Executive Board,' the post reads.
