Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Deng Dau Deng Malek, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation of South Sudan, who was on a visit to our country to participate in the Ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Bureau, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA.
During the meeting, the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries was discussed. It was emphasized during the meeting that there are potential opportunities for the development of our bilateral relations in various directions, especially in the fields of economy, energy, trade, and healthcare.
Noting that Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement is about to end, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov drew attention to the efforts of our country for the development of the Movement and a number of initiatives related to its establishment during the chairmanship period.
Minister emphasized that the procedures for South Sudan's membership in the Non-Aligned Movement have been completed and congratulated the other side on the occasion of the new membership.
Deng Dau Deng Malek, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation of South Sudan, expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for the successful chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement. He pointed out that his country is interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan.
The meeting also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
