Azerbaijani FM meets Oman's Deputy PM to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and regional cooperation-UPDATED

As part of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, the Special Representative of the Sultan of Oman, MFA told APA.

During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Oman both bilaterally and multilaterally.

The crucial role of high-level visits in elevating bilateral relations to a new level and further stimulating political and economic cooperation between the two countries was emphasized.

Confidence was expressed that the opening of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Oman will further boost cooperation.

Minister Bayramov highlighted the decisive role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral ties and praised the establishment of friendship groups between the parliaments of both countries in 2025.

He also noted the importance of Azerbaijan hosting the next Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in 2026 in Baku, emphasizing that these events will create new opportunities for cooperation in promoting dialogue, solidarity, and sustainable development.

The meeting also featured discussions on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest, as well as the regional situation.

During the official visit to Oman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of the Sultan of Oman, the Azerbaijani MFA said in a post on its official X account, APA reports.

At the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of high-level visits, which play a crucial role in elevating bilateral relations to a new level and expanding political and economic dialogue between Azerbaijan and Oman.

Azerbaijan reaffirmed its readiness to continue close engagement with Oman within multilateral platforms to promote peace, connectivity, and sustainable development across the wider region.
