"Main issue for the state of Azerbaijan during the post-conflict period is the restoration of the territories, destroyed over the 30 years. But mine threat still targets us today," said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, APA reports.
Jeyhun Bayramov has noted that more than 200 people, of which 37 have been killed, have suffered from mine blast from November of 2020 until today: "Armenia played a game of landmine maps for a long time, did not provide maps. Landmine maps were presented after one year - in December of the last year due to pressure of international community, the danger of international court."
Touching upon the issue of missing people in the First Karabakh War, Foreign Minister has said that non-presentation of information by Armenia in this regard so far is contrary to international legal norms: "However, Azerbaijan demonstrated an example to Armenia after the Second Karabakh War, provided finding and handing over 1,711 Armenian soldiers in liberated territories to Armenia. Azerbaijan's numerous appeals and being right in this regard have been proved. Several mass graves have been found after Azerbaijan provided its control in these territories. These mass graves have been found in Bashlibel of Kalbajar, around Shusha, and yesterday in Edilli village of Khojavend. If Armenia took steps in this regard, it would contribute to the process of normalization of relations."
