On October 24, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the priorities of the country’s chairmanship within the OTS framework, the issues on the organization’s agenda, and future plans.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that strengthening friendship, brotherhood, and cooperation in all areas within the framework of our organization is a main priority, that Azerbaijan has always supported the steps, initiatives, and ideas taken within the Organization of Turkic States toward realizing this potential, and stressed the importance of further strengthening and expanding the organization’s secretariat and its observer status in international organizations.
The parties noted the importance of the informal summit held in Shusha last year, the Karabakh Declaration adopted during that summit, as well as the decisions adopted at the summit held in Gabala this year, for multifaceted cooperation within the framework of the organization. The Secretary General conveyed his congratulations on the successful organization of the events hosted by our country.
Steps toward the implementation of the initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan during the Gabala summit were reviewed.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
