Azerbaijani FM: "Italian companies to take additional steps in field of demining"

"We have conducted discussions on the regional issues, "said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at the press conference with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, APA reports.

The Minister said that he has informed his colleague about the process of reconstruction in the liberated territories after the end of 30 years of occupation: “For almost 30 years, when our lands were under occupation, Italy showed a principled position. At the same time, after the liberation of our lands, both government and parliamentary delegations from Italy were among the first visitors from Europe. Today, the main priority for Azerbaijan is to clear those areas of mines, carry out reconstruction work and return IDPs there. Italian companies are already actively involved in this process. There is great interest in increasing the number of these companies. I also informed my colleague about the work done by the Azerbaijani government in the field of demining. My colleague confirmed today that Italian companies will take additional steps in the field of demining".
