On April 7 and 8, 2023, a phone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Azerbaijani MFA told APA.
The sides mutually expressed that they respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of both countries.
During the phone conversation, a detailed discussion was held regarding the existing dissatisfaction and misunderstandings between the two countries. The importance of continuing negotiations to eliminate misunderstandings was emphasized.
Agreement was expressed on the implementation of existing projects between Azerbaijan and Iran.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the importance of respecting Azerbaijan's independent foreign policy based on national interests and bilateral relations with the region's countries.
The ministers noted that it is essential to maintain mutual contact.
