On January 28, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi as part of his official visit to the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
The meeting discussed the current state and development prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and China, as well as regional and international issues.
It was recalled with satisfaction that 2027 will mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The meeting further reviewed global and regional security issues, as well as cooperation plans within the framework of the Central Asia format. The Azerbaijani side also informed the other party about post-conflict reconstruction efforts and the mine threat. Gratitude was expressed to the Chinese side for its support to ANAMA in demining activities.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.

Discussions covered the deepening of economic and trade cooperation, investment opportunities, connectivity and transport corridors, energy cooperation, as well as collaboration in innovation and digital development.
The sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments, underlining the value of cooperation within multilateral frameworks.
Both Ministers expressed confidence that this visit would further contribute to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding practical cooperation across multiple sectors.
