“Azerbaijani and Armenian sides regularly work on proposals and suggest them to each other,” said Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at the joint press conference with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov while commenting on the speech of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that Armenia suggested proposals to Azerbaijan regarding peace agreement.
“It is difficult to answer whether we are satisfied with the document and it would not be correct. Of course, the process is not easy, it is difficult. The positions of the parties differ in most cases and therefore the proposals should be discussed in several stages.
As a result of these discussions, you deliver your position to the opposite side more clearly and you better understand the position of the opposite side. Yesterday, the Armenian Prime minister announced that he is ready to sign an agreement on the basis of the terms they presented. But we understand that an agreement is not signed in this form. If we act with this logic, so at that time we were ready to sign an agreement in Geneva on October 2 within the framework of our terms," noted Azerbaijani FM.
