On July 1, 2022, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegation led by the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed who is on a visit to our country in order to attend the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, Press Service department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq and emphasized that our countries are determined to develop cooperation in all fields.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan attaches importance to the development of relations with Iraq. The Minister stressed that the relations between the two countries are developing based on historical, cultural, and religious ties, and noted that cooperation is carried out in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks. Foreign Minister also mentioned with gratitude Iraq's lasting support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of the borders of Azerbaijan within the framework of international organizations.
