Joint scientific research is being conducted on the findings of the studies carried out by Azerbaijani seismologists in Kahramanmaraş after the February 6 earthquake, and further joint research will be implemented in the future, Ali Hamza Pahlivan, head of Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), said in an interview with APA’s correspondent dispatched to Ankara.
“AFAD has a Directorate General for Earthquake and Risk Reduction, and we have the largest seismic station network in Europe. We are working together with the Republican Seismological Service Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Azerbaijani and Turkish seismologists plan to conduct joint research in the future as well. Until now, we have already carried out several joint activities,” the AFAD head said.
