Azerbaijani and Hungarian foreign ministers discuss strategic partnership in Samarkand-UPDATED

Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó as part of his working visit to the city of Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan MFA told APA.

During the meeting, the development prospects of the existing strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary, cooperation issues within regional and international organizations, future plans, and projects were discussed.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the existing political dialogue, mutual visits and contacts, as well as mechanisms such as strategic dialogue and political consultations between the two countries, contribute to the development of partnership relations.

On a bilateral basis, an exchange of views was held on issues on the agenda of multi-sectoral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Hungary in the areas of economy, trade, investments, energy security, renewable energy resources, humanitarian, education, culture, etc. In particular, the existence of potential in terms of further strengthening economic relations and the role of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary in discussing prospects in this direction were emphasized.

The meeting emphasized that the development and transmission of renewable energy is one of the important components of our strategic partnership, and the need to continue the activities to promote the Black Sea Submarine Cable/Green Middle Corridor initiative in this direction.

Hungary's contribution to the construction work carried out in the liberated territories was noted with gratitude.

The meeting also exchanged views on regional security and other issues of mutual interest.

On the sidelines of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan said in an X post, APA reports.

The Ministers exchanged views on the current agenda of Azerbaijan–Hungary bilateral cooperation, including political dialogue, economic and humanitarian partnerships, as well as collaboration within international organizations.

They also discussed regional developments and reaffirmed mutual commitment to further deepening the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries.
