Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan, Farid Ahmadov, met with Minister of Justice of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad al-Nuaimi, the Press Service of the Ministry told APA.
During the meeting, the importance of the existing legal framework for the development of relations in the field of justice between the two countries was highlighted. The signing of a new Cooperation Program that will support the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Justice was discussed, and it was stated that this document will make an additional contribution to the expansion of legal cooperation.
The Azerbaijani side spoke about the work being carried out to expand digitalization and the application of artificial intelligence in the justice system, as well as to increase the efficiency and promptness of services, and expressed interest in studying the best international practices in this field.
The importance of continuing mutual visits and exchange of experience in order to further strengthen legal cooperation between the countries was emphasised.
Farid Ahmadov also met with Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the UAE.
During the meeting, it was emphasised that the parties have fruitful cooperation in the field of combating crime, including mutual extradition. The parties also discussed the prospects for future cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
