Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, delivered a speech at the 16th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) on January 26, the Milli Majlis Press and Public Relations Department told APA.
In her speech, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis noted that at the 14th plenary session held in Baku in February 2024, the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan assumed the chairmanship of the APA: “During Azerbaijan’s chairmanship, our country has made active efforts to deepen cooperation and dialogue within the framework of the Assembly. This is an indication of the importance Azerbaijan attaches to the APA as an important inter-parliamentary platform.”
Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that as the Assembly marks the 20th anniversary of its establishment this year, it has already become an important multilateral institution for constructive dialogue and solidarity.
Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly was officially handed over to the Council of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
