“A citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Abbas Abbasov, born in 1978, was killed as a result of a drone attack on the city of Kyiv at around 10:00 p.m. yesterday,” Aykhan Hajizada, Head of the Press Service Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in response to APA's inquiry.
He said that the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine is providing relevant consular assistance to repatriate the body of the deceased Azerbaijani citizen.
Note that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared on X that an Azerbaijani citizen was among those killed in Russia’s attacks on Kyiv.
