"As you know, Azerbaijan has submitted a new 5- clause proposal to Armenia for normalization of relations", said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov within the framework of Antalya Diplomacy Frum in a reply to APA's question.

The Minister recalled that shortly after the end of the 44-day war, Azerbaijan declared its readiness to work on a peace agreement with Armenia.

"This message was given about a year ago. This offer was repeated several times during the year. As a responsible member of international relations, Azerbaijan is interested in the development of bilateral relations, as well as in ensuring peace and progress in the region. Not having relations between neighboring countries, the maintenance of hostility does not benefit either Azerbaijan or Armenia, as well as the region in the broadest sense. Based on this, Azerbaijan made this proposal. For about a year, Armenia did not respond to this proposal. After that, we, as the Azerbaijani side, took the next step and showed our goodwill. What was the next step? If Armenia is not ready to work on a major peace agreement - in terms of domestic political processes - if there are any hesitations, we have simplified the process for them and submitted the next document for them. We presented the basic principles for the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani interstate relations. I will not go to those principles. But I can say that all the principles there are based on international law".
