“The recent meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) adopted a final resolution on the situation in Afghanistan. According to the Resolution, the Solidarity Fund will be established and will operate under the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and will be managed by the IDB,” said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at a joint press conference with Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turkovic, APA reports.
According to Azerbaijani FM, it is important to have logistics centers for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, and it was agreed at the meeting to open two such centers: “One of those centers will be opened in Pakistan, the other in Uzbekistan. Prompt coordination is crucial in the issues related to Afghanistan. Azerbaijan has always provided support to Afghanistan and we are ready to continue participating in support projects to this country.”
