The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, held a meeting with Faruk Çelik, the head of the Georgia–Türkiye Friendship Group in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT), and the members of the group, APA’s local bureau reports.
The sides discussed the friendly relations between the two countries and the positive dynamics of high-level mutual visits.
At the meeting, readiness was expressed to further deepen bilateral relations. The sides also emphasized the importance of trilateral cooperation between Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan.
During the conversation, close ties between parliaments, friendship groups, and committees were also reviewed.
The Chairman of the Georgian Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, also met with members of the GNAT delegation. The main focus was directed toward trilateral cooperation between Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan. It was noted that this format, as a good example of regional cooperation, contributes to ensuring security and stability in the region.
The sides also discussed regional security issues, including the current situation between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the processes toward peace. The importance of establishing lasting peace in the region and the significant role of Türkiye and Georgia in this process were emphasized.
