Azerbaijan evacuated more than 7,500 citizens from Ukraine

Due to the situation in Ukraine, the evacuation of Azerbaijani citizens and their families from this country to Azerbaijan continues through neighboring countries, the Foreign Ministry's press service told APA.

According to the Ministry, more than 7,500 people were evacuated to Azerbaijan by March 14, 2022. About 3,000 charter flights and more than 4,500 people were evacuated by bus.

So far, the Azerbaijani government has organized 15 charter flights to evacuate our citizens from Iasi and Bucharest, Romania, and Katowice, Poland. Priority was given to the evacuation of women, children, the elderly, the sick and other vulnerable citizens.

Due to the situation in Ukraine, our compatriots living permanently and temporarily in this region are returning to Azerbaijan at their own expense.
