The year 2025 was a historically significant stage not only for Azerbaijan-Armenia relations but also for the South Caucasus region as a whole, Elchin Amirbayov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments, said in an interview with “The Holland Times," APA reports.

“Our countries initialed the draft document of the peace agreement in August, which we hope can be signed next year. Two weeks ago, the OSCE completed the procedure for closing the Minsk Group and related bodies. The Minsk Group has been a non-functional entity since 2020. Our goal is to ensure the sustainability of peace between our countries. To achieve this, Armenia’s Constitution needs to be aligned with the initialed peace agreement. After that, the treaty can be signed and ratified by both parties,” Elchin Amirbayov said.
