A joint action plan has been signed between the Emergency Situations Ministries of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan told APA.
According to the information, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, met with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Major-General Botir Kudratkhodjayev, who is visiting our country within the framework of the 26th International Conference of the Heads of Fire and Rescue Services of the member countries of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, held in Baku.
Welcoming the guest sincerely, Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov recalled that the relations between our countries, based on deep historical ties, have risen to the level of strategic partnership and alliance thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies rooted in mutual trust between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In this context, the minister emphasized that relations between the Emergency Situations Ministries of the two countries have been rapidly expanding, expressing confidence that the meeting would give an impetus to the development of cooperation between the institutions. It was noted that the joint action plan to be signed would create conditions for deepening mutual experience exchange and elevating relations to a qualitatively new stage.
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Botir Kudratkhodjayev, thanked for the sincere meeting and hospitality, as well as for the high-level organization of the 26th International Conference of the Heads of Fire and Rescue Services of member countries of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers in Baku.
Minister Kudratkhodjayev expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the two ministries within the framework of the strategic partnership and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and spoke about the benefits of further developing cooperation between the emergency ministries of the two countries to ensure the safety of the population and territories.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on issues of mutual interest.
At the end of the meeting, the “Joint Action Plan for 2026–2027 between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was signed. The plan was signed by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Kamaladdin Heydarov, and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Botir Kudratkhodjayev.
Afterwards, the guest became acquainted on-site with the activities of the Crisis Management Center, the Main Department for the Development of Digital Technologies and Innovations, and the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It was noted that during the visit, the Uzbek minister will also visit several other structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and get acquainted with their activities on-site.
