On October 27, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Ayşe Berris Ekinci, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, the MFA told APA.
During the meeting, issues arising from the Azerbaijan-Türkiye alliance, as well as regional and international security issues, were discussed.
It was stated that the historic Shusha Declaration, which established the alliance relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Türkiye, is the embodiment of the existing brotherly and friendly relations. The importance of activities aimed at further strengthening cooperation in political, security, economic, trade, energy, transport, communications, cultural-humanitarian, etc., aspects of the multidimensional alliance relations, upon the instructions of the leaders, was emphasized.
It was emphasized that the joint efforts of Azerbaijan and Türkiye in all international organizations, especially the Organization of Turkic States, which is considered a family, are commendable, and confidence was expressed that the summit held in Gabala this year will serve to further strengthen the organization.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart in detail about the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and its various aspects, as well as issues arising from the Washington summit.
They exchanged views on the current efforts in the Middle East, the Gaza Strip, Syria and African countries, as well as other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, another round of political consultations was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Türkiye. The Azerbaijani delegation at the political consultations was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov, and the Turkish delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ayşe Berris Ekinci.
