Today marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, APA’s local bureau reports.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on November 18, 1992.
In February 1995, Georgia opened its embassy in Baku, and in March 1996, Azerbaijan opened its embassy in Tbilisi.
Since 2020, Faig Guliyev has been Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia, and since 2018, Zurab Pataradze has been Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Batumi, Georgia, has been operating since 2010. Fuad Azizov has served as Consul General in Batumi since last year.
Georgia’s Consulate General in the city of Ganja was opened in 2013. The current Consul General is Kakhaber Abdaladze.
The number of documents signed between the two countries exceeds 120.
