A delegation led by Georgian Prosecutor General Giorgi Qvarakidze arrived in Azerbaijan on a working visit on July 29 at the invitation of Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, the Prosecutor General's Office told APA.
The delegation first visited the Alley of Honor, where they paid tribute to the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, laid a wreath at his grave, and also visited the graves of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, distinguished statesman Aziz Aliyev, and Professor Tamerlan Aliyev.
The guests then visited the Alley of Martyrs, where they honored the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and laid flowers at their graves.
As part of the visit, an expanded meeting was held between Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev and Prosecutor General of Georgia Giorgi Qvarakidze.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the high-level political dialogue and strategic partnership established between President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze have made a significant contribution to the dynamic development of cooperation between the two countries across all areas.
The meeting was also attended by Maia Tabagari, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Georgian Embassy in Azerbaijan.
