“We are worried about the instant statements of some states against us,” said Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan-Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration, at a briefing for the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports.

He noted that despite all these, the international community and Azerbaijan’s partners are constantly being informed about these issues: “The legitimate worry of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been brought to their attention. Unfortunately, we do not think that the one-sided statements serve the peace agenda.”

The Assistant to the President pointed out that there is no need for the United Nations Security Council to hold a meeting regarding Garabagh. Hikmat Hajiyev noted that he thinks there’s no need for the UN to implement any tool.

He noted that important issues like these require local solutions at places: “If such meeting is held, it will not be efficient at all. We would not want this fragile situation to get worse. Meaning, there is no need to hold this meeting. If there is, Azerbaijan is ready to express its legitimate worry.”
