Significant progress has been recorded in establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, said Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan at the 12th plenary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly held in Yerevan, APA reports, citing Armenpress.
He noted that this is evidenced by the joint declaration signed by the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8, 2025, in Washington, with the participation of the President of the United States: “On the same day, the foreign ministers of the two countries also initialed the text of the agreement on peace and the establishment of interstate relations. The adoption of the declaration and the initialing of the peace agreement show that peace has already been achieved.”
Simonyan emphasized that, based on the outcomes of the Washington meeting, Armenia will continue its cooperation with the United States and other agreed third parties in implementing the “Trump Route” initiative.
