Azerbaijan's statement on the lifting of transit restrictions to Armenia is a historic event, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during budget hearings in parliament, APA reports, citing the Armenian media.
He said that it is also important for Armenia to take the corresponding steps.
Pashinyan noted that the first batch of grain from Kazakhstan to Armenia will be imported through Azerbaijani territory via the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia railway route.
Note that Azerbaijan has removed all restrictions that had existed since the occupation regarding cargo transit to Armenia.
“I should also note that the first such transit shipment was a consignment of Kazakh grain to Armenia. I believe this is a clear indication that peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia exists not only on paper but also in practice,” said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during a joint press statement with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for lifting all restrictions on the transit of goods from Azerbaijan to Armenia.
