Armenia abuses humanitarian assistance issue, Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Yashar Aliyev said, addressing the open debate in connection with "Famine and conflict-induced global food insecurity" under the agenda item "Maintenance of international peace and security" of the UN Security Council, APA reports.
"Azerbaijan condemns Armenia's continuous efforts to misuse humanitarian aid for its own ulterior motives. The establishment of the Lachin border crossing point is Azerbaijan's sovereign right to ensure the security and protection of its own borders and to guarantee the safety of transportation and movement of goods," said Yashar Aliyev.
The diplomat also recalled that on July 6 of this year, the International Court of Justice dismissed Armenia's groundless claims and unanimously rejected its request for interim measures concerning the border crossing point.
