An event was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Azerbaijan to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, APA reports.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Pakistan, members of the Pakistani community living in Azerbaijan, journalists, and other guests.
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
Later, messages from the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day were broadcast.
Pakistan’s Ambassador Qasim Mohiuddin emphasized that the international community should call on India to put an end to human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The government and people of Pakistan express their gratitude to the brotherly government and people of Azerbaijan for their steadfast support on the Jammu and Kashmir issue. Pakistan will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Kashmir until they are able to decide their future through a free and impartial plebiscite,” the ambassador said.
He emphasized that India’s illegal actions of August 5, 2019, have further intensified efforts to consolidate the occupation through political, administrative, and demographic measures.
At the end, an exhibition dedicated to the events in Jammu and Kashmir was displayed.
