The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the US, Tamar Taliashvili participated in the annual meeting of the America Georgia Business Council, APA reports, citing the Embassy of Georgia in US.
The Ambassador addressed the attendees and discussed the importance of refreshing US-Georgian relations. The Ambassador also underscored Georgia’s historically special function in terms of the development of the ‘Middle Corridor’ and spoke about the efficient undertakings of the Government of Georgia allowing the country to fully reassume the aforementioned role.
The successful Silk Road Forum held in Tbilisi was also mentioned within this context. Tamar Taliashvili highlighted the significance of President Trump’s Peace Initiative and the role of TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) in the development of regional connectivity. The Ambassador also discussed the visit of the Representative of the Department of State Jonathan Askonas to Georgia, within the framework of which the role of Georgia in the development of the above-mentioned initiative was underscored.
Addressing the attendees presenters positively assessed Georgia’s economic state and dynamics. Additionally, the outstanding indicators of Georgia’s economic growth were underscored, including the resilience of the banking sector, positive trends in the service industry and efficient customs’ system. The importance of the yet-untapped potential of the ‘Middle Corridor’ and Georgia’s special role in this regard were also noted.
