“Malaysia has supported Azerbaijan both during the war and during the current peace process,” Malaysian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ahmad Kamrizamil Mohd Riza told APA.
“We have supported Azerbaijan on international platforms. Azerbaijan has supported us in the economic sphere. Economic relations and trade between the two countries are growing. Relations between our peoples are also strengthening,” the ambassador said.
Noting that relations between the two countries are at a high level, the ambassador said that visits by high-level delegations from Malaysia to Azerbaijan, which will host a number of international events in the coming years, would further develop these relations.
“In May next year, Azerbaijan will host the 13th World Urban Forum (“WUF13”) and the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in June. We are members of both organizations. Malaysia is a member of this forum and a founding member of the OIC. "Many high-level delegations from Malaysia will come to Azerbaijan to participate in these events, and the meetings will contribute to the expansion of cooperation between the countries," the ambassador emphasized.
