"New mechanisms are being implemented to develop relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan," said Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov at the round table dedicated to Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations and snap presidential elections to be held in Uzbekistan was held today in Baku under the joint organization of Center of Analysis of International Relations and Embassy of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The diplomat noted that the application of these mechanisms, in turn, contributes to the development of inter-country relations.
According to the Ambassador, the role of the country's leaders in maintaining and strengthening the relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan is very important: "Uzbekistan always attaches great importance to maintaining high-level relations with Azerbaijan. Recently, the increase of high-level mutual visits between our countries not only boosts the development of relations, but also strengthens the foundation of relations. The development of inter-country relations undoubtedly serves the interests of both fraternal peoples".
The Ambassador pointed out Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's March trip to Azerbaijan: "As you know, dialogue between the leaders of our countries during the March 1 meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku has also had a positive impact on the relations of two fraternal countries. Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan cooperate and support each other at high levels on both the Non-Aligned Movement and other international platforms".
