On December 15, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev met with Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Azerbaijan Orl Litzenberger, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s office told APA.
Touching upon the traditional friendship and partnership relations between Azerbaijan and the USA, the existence of business relations in all fields, the Prosecutor General spoke about the cooperation between law enforcement agencies of our states.
The Prosecutor General stressed that the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan kept under Armenian occupation for nearly 30 years were liberated from the occupation under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and our country restored its territorial integrity within the framework of the norms and principles of the international law, as well as in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
K.Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the participation of the US Embassy in the briefings organized by the Prosecutor General's Office on the crimes committed by the Armenian armed forces against the civilians of Azerbaijan.
Expressing gratitude for the sincere reception and touching upon bilateral relations, Ambassador Earle Lee Litzenberger stressed that the United States attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan and relations between the two countries develop at a high level and successfully.
It was particularly noted that the United States recognizes, supports the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and hopes that peace and tranquility to be established in the region in the future.
Noting that he strongly condemns the atrocities committed against civilians and servicemen, the ambassador has called on the parties to investigate these issues and punish those who are guilty. He expressed his condolences to relatives of those who killed and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
