Russian President Vladimir Putin and permanent members of the Security Council discussed the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
He noted that the online meeting of the Security Council under the Russian President has been held, the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border has been discussed at the meeting and Moscow’s readiness to mediation attempts has been stressed.
"A detailed exchange of views took place on the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Extreme concern was expressed about the ongoing escalation, an urgent need was emphasized for the parties to ensure a ceasefire, as well as a willingness to mediate," Peskov said.
