“30 years ago a tragedy occurred in Khojaly city of Azerbaijan,” said Assistant to Azerbaijani president Hikmat Hajiyev at the conference on the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide held today, APA reports.
The Assistant to the President spoke about the coverage of the Khojaly genocide in the international press.
“Khojaly was not only Azerbaijan’s tragedy, but it was also an insult to the dignity of humanity. Khojaly is entirely a tragedy of all international community,” H. Hajiyev noted.
He stressed that the 366th regiment has played a special role in committing Khojaly Genocide: “Khojaly was occupied during an operation by organized military forces and genocide was committed.”
